14 BIT HARDWARE DICOM CALIBRATION AND QA
PerfectLum software makes Dell displays usable for viewing of medical images and diagnostics. With their resolutions and highest pixel density, Dell displays are capable of recreating the most subtle detail of a color or gray scale image, while PerfectLum software brings their performance to an even higher level, required by such standards as NEMA DICOM part 14 GSDF, AAPM TG18, DIN 6868-57, JESRA X-0093, DIN 6868-157 Norm-Entwurf and others. Moreover, the software allows performing DICOM, Gamma and CIE L* hardware re-calibrations using the 14 Bit LUT (Look Up Table) of the display, including conformance tests and verification of luminance level.
FDA APPROVED FOR DIAGNOSTIC USE
In 2012, Dell UltraSharp U3011 30” monitor and PerfectLum DICOM calibration application bundle received the Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for the use in medical imaging industry. On 07/10/2014 another bundle of PerfectLum and Dell, this time Dell UltraSharp U3014, also received the FDA 510(k) market clearance. PerfectLum and Dell U3014 bundle will now be marketed in the US and other countries as a display for viewing medical images, review and analysis by trained medical practitioners.
Dell U3014 is a 30” primary display with an IPS panel, extremely stable LED backlight and a resolution of 2560x1600 pixel. With U3014 the user can see more detail in gray shades and view lifelike images at 120% typical color gamut and color depth of 1.07 billion colors enabled by the 12-bit internal processing and a 14-bit look-up table (LUT).
