QUBYX Released Free Medical Display Quality Control Application

April 01, 2009, Nice, France - QUBYX Software Technologies, a source of medical imaging and color management products, today announced that it has released a free medical monitor QA software, called KleoQC, to verify if medical displays confirm to medical standards like AAPM TG-18, DIN 6868-57 or IEC 61223.

“We always seek to deliver cutting edge technology which extracts even more performance from color and gray scale diagnostic medical displays” says Marc Leppla, Director of QUBYX. “KleoQC Freeware is QUBYX commitment to the market to give customers the tools to verify the performance of their displays and increase diagnostic security.”

KleoQC medical monitor quality control tool performs acceptance and conformance tests on medical displays used for diagnostics or viewing. The user is guided over a simple Wizard system, which makes medical monitor quality assurance feasible and affordable for everybody.

QUBYX KleoQC medical display QA tool performs the "Standard Acceptance Test" so the user can be assured that the image display quality is up to standards and that those standards are maintained throughout the life of the device.

KleoQC supports DIN6868-57, AAPM TG18 and IEC standards.

DIN 6868-57: Deutsches Institute fur Normung-German Standard Institute. This standard describes acceptance and conformance tests used to determine the quality of the image display devices. DIN describes the parameters and tools to be used for acceptance and conformance testing.

AAPM TG18: American Association of Physicists in Medicine Task Group 18.This standard provides guidelines to practicing medical physicists, engineers, researchers and radiologists for the performance evaluation of electronic display devices intended for medical use.
It outlines both acceptance testing and quality control. Acceptance testing is required before the first use of a diagnostic imaging device, and each time after it has been repaired or replaced. Quality control specifies periodic, recurring check-ups during the use of medical devices.

IEC 61223-2-5-International Electrotechnical Commission."Evaluation and Routine Testing in Medical Imaging Departments - Part 2-5" established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). IEC is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising all national Electrotechnical committees (IEC National committees). This standard describes acceptance and constancy tests for image display devices used in the medical electrical equipments and systems for diagnostic imaging.

KleoQC provides a wizard based user interface making it quick and easy to run the tests described in AAPM TG18, DIN 6868-57 and IEC 61223 standards.
